Does traveling make you happy or stress you out?

"The world is a book and those who do not travel only read one page". St. Augustine

Do you prep so much for your trip that you fail to enjoy the excitement of a new adventure? How often have you hurried through getting there that you miss the journey?

Think of Sunday morning...getting ready for church and all that goes with it.  Wake up and making a decent breakfast (it's the weekend after all). Everyone isn't dressed,  rooms are in shambles, barking orders all on the name of being on time. Don't get me wrong, I am very punctual,  but the rat race can stress me out.

This is one of the beautiful things about leisure travel. We stop to smell the flowers or smile at a stranger. We let stuff go that would normally bother us. We are observant and relaxed.

Have you noticed how happy people are during the holidays? Is it the holiday season,  vacation,  ditched diets or time with family?  I'm still trying to figure it out.

On to planning my next adventure to inspire me. Recently, I started making books with my travel photos.  I love to randomly pull out a book to take me back to that place. Remind me of the museum,  hear the music and smell all the food I ate again.
